Department Chair's Foreword

Welcome to Management and Humanities (MH) Department!

Here in our department, we aim to become a prominent and sustainable higher education provider in Business and Management Studies through programme internationalisation and building strong bonding with stakeholders and global recognition. In UTP, the Department of Management and Humanities takes up the mantle in being the provider for academic programs in the disciplines of Business Management, Social Sciences and Humanities.

We are working towards becoming a globally recognised education provider who offers high quality academic programmes. Our department makes the most of its ability to negotiate knowledge that, on the one hand, addresses issues in the traditional fields of study within the discipline of sociology while addressing contemporary advancements in the scientific and technological considerations of the twenty-first century. We achieve this by providing a progression of academic programs that start with bachelor's degree in business management (BBM) with a focus on data analytics followed by master's degree in business administration (MBA) focused on energy management. Our students will be able to apply the theories of management systems they study in these two courses to relevant industries that are essential to both international relations and national governance. Especially noteworthy is our expanded industry internship program.

We are also focused on providing student experience that is positive and enriching, ensuring that both academic and pastoral care are given. Our lecturers, staff and adjunct staff are fully dedicated to engaging with our students. This is done through building strong student-bonding by connecting students with opportunities for professional development, personal coaching and committed support for their social well-being. With this intertwining system, we strive to enhance students’ overall experience and grant them visibility in the global market.
