The above fees for Research are on an annual basis. However, the fees will be aggregated and charged every semester

RM3000 refundable personal bond, or deposit is required from all international students.

Please note that the commitment fee is part of tuition fees, which will be forfeited if applicants fail to register at the University or withdraw from the programme after registration.
Other Matters for Consideration
Candidates are advised to prepare sufficient funds to cover the following expenses:

Hostel rental of approximately RM260 per month

Food and beverage cost of approximately RM500 per month

Purchase of a personal laptop if do not previously own one

Financial Assistance
i)
UTP Graduate Assistantship Scheme (GA)
- For full-time research student only
- Minimum CGPA of 3.00/4.00.
- Covers tuition fee (Research Progression Fee ONLY) and research methodology.
- Student to pay for Resources Fee (RM2,400 annually for Full-Time mode) and Viva Voce Fee.
- Registration, accommodation and transportation costs are not covered and is to be borne by students
- Candidates will be assigned 6 hours of academic activities per week in the form of tutorials or laboratory demonstration or any other related academic activities
- Candidates will be required to perform 22 research days per month
- Monthly subsistence allowance
- MSc Student: RM1,800.00
- PhD Student: RM2,300.00
ii) UTP Graduate Research Assistantship Scheme (GRA)
- For full-time research student only
- Minimum CGPA of 3.00/4.00
- Covers tuition fee (Research Progression Fee ONLY) and research methodology.
- Student to pay for Resources Fee (RM2,400 annually for Full-Time mode) and Viva Voce Fee.
- Registration, accommodation and transportation costs are not covered and is to be borne by students

iii) Employee Provident Fund (EPF) Withdrawal Scheme for Malaysian students only covering tuition fee
iv) HRDF Claimable (SBL Scheme)
A programme designed to assist employers in retraining and upgrading the skills and knowledge of their employees, in line with their operational and business requirements. Under Skim Bantuan Latihan (SBL) Scheme, employer who sponsor their employee(s) for postgraduate studies in UTP can claim the tuition fee with HRDF.
