November 29, 2025 - The Integrated Engineering Department (IED) successfully hosted its Annual Industry Appreciation Luncheon on 29 November 2025 at Aloft Kuala Lumpur. The event brought together valued industry partners for an afternoon dedicated to appreciation, connection, and the strengthening of long-standing collaborations between academia and industry.

The luncheon was graced by Ir. Mohamed Firouz Asnan, FASc, President of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP). His presence underscored the University’s strong commitment to industry engagement and its belief that meaningful partnerships play a critical role in shaping future-ready engineering graduates.

Designed as a platform for appreciation and relationship-building, the luncheon provided an informal yet purposeful space for industry partners to engage with academic leaders, the IED team, and selected students from the Integrated Engineering programme. During the session, these students showcased their exemplary achievements in Semester 1, offering industry partners a first-hand view of the programme’s distinctive learning approach and outcomes. This interaction enabled industry representatives to better understand how the programme integrates theory, practice, and authentic learning experiences from the early stages of study.

Conversations throughout the luncheon reflected a shared commitment to collaboration that supports curriculum relevance, authentic learning environments, and long-term value creation for both students and industry. The strong participation and positive engagement reaffirmed the importance of this annual platform in strengthening trust, alignment, and shared aspirations between the University and its industry partners.

The success of the luncheon once again demonstrated IED’s ongoing commitment to fostering sustainable, mutually beneficial partnerships that bridge academic excellence with real-world engineering practice.
