What is Applied Chemistry?
Applied chemistry is essentially the application of the principles of chemistry to resolve the industrial world problems while maintaining sustainable developments. This includes producing biodegradable plastics, mitigating global warming, treating toxic wastewaters and solid wastes and promoting green processes for industries.
Note:
Students should pursue minimum CGPA of 3.0 over 4.0 in the last semester at UPer and satisfied English requirements to pursue UTP Programme.
Fees to advance study at UTP is RM57,000 (approx. USD13,300)
Career Pathway
UTP BSc (Hons) in Applied Chemistry programme is accredited by Malaysian Qualification Agency and Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), a learned society (professional association) in the United Kingdom. Hence, the graduates could seek employment opportunities in Malaysia and in any other countries. In addition, the graduates could proceed to seek Chartered Chemist (CChem) professional award. They are also able to pursue postgraduate studies at UTP and abroad.
