​ Dr Ghazali bin Mohamed Fadzil​​​​

Dr Ghazali bin Mohamed Fadzil.jpegDr. Ghazali Mohamed Fadzil graduated from the School of Information Management, UITM in 1985 after which he expended his perspective and knowledge by attending a graduate school at Syracuse University, New York focusing in the area of Information Management. He was conferred a Master Degree in Library Science in 1987 and came back to Malaysia to work for Rubber Research Institute of Malaysia (RRIM), Securities Commission (SC), Telekom Multimedia (TMM) and Multimedia Development Corporation (MDC, now MDeC) and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) before retiring in March 2016. Ghazali in 2018 was conferred a Doctor of Philosophy in Information Management on the topic of ‘A Strategic Approach To A Knowledge Management Programme​: A Case Study Of A Malaysian Organization’ at Universiti Teknologi Mara, Malaysia. Ghazali is equip with the competency, capability and experience in Library, Information and Knowledge Management works after having spent approximately 26 years planning, implementing and managing information and knowledge management initiatives in various organizations.


​Achievements

His achievements in the area of Knowledge Management are successfully planning, designing and implementing of Knowledge Management Department and programmes for TMM, MDC and BNM. The tasks include successfully:

  1. Planning, designing and implementing knowledge management frame- work and roadmap. This framework includes knowledge management enablers and processes like knowledge acquisition, creation, sharing, use and retention.
  2. Planning, designing and implementing knowledge management initiatives and programmes. This, among others include identifying and leveraging of Communities of Practice (CoP); and instituting knowledge sharing activities
  3. Transforming the library unit at BNM into a Knowledge Management Centre (KMC) that became the benchmark in Malaysia. As a site KMC was recognized as an award winner for Excellence and Innovation by the Librarian Association of Malaysia in 2006.
