Records Management
Good records management ensures that the right information gets to the right people at the right time for the right purposes. Every department needs to manage its records; the UTP Records Management Practice provides the resources and expertise to make that job a little easier. All UTP employees have a stake in making sure records are efficiently and effectively managed so that University administrative, legal, fiscal and historical interests are served.
The UTP Records Management and Preservation project led by the Knowledge Management Unit (KMU), IRC in year 2010. It was started with the environmental scanning on the decentralized filing and records management practices in the university. At the end of 2010, a group staff under the Staff Internal Training and Development Group (SITDG), been involved in series of training, awareness and workshop in records management. Until today, UTP Records Management and Preservation has practiced by all administrative, academic and research department in the university as the centralized filing structure and standard university practice.
