​Students Returning to Campus Early July 2020

 

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We wish to inform that the following students will be returning to UTP Campus beginning early July 2020:

 

  1. Postgraduate students
  2. Final Year Final Semester students
  3. New Foundation and Undergraduate students (May 2020 Intake)

 

They will return to campus according to states - please refer Table 1 for further details.   

 

For new Foundation and Undergraduate students, they will carry out academic and non-academic activities upon returning to the campus.  For the list of activities, please refer Table 2.

Category Description of Activities

Foundation

Students –

Academic Activities

  • For Engineering and Science streams students, they need to carry out practical work at the laboratories. 
  • For other streams, they will be undergoing sessions on enhancing their practical business skills such as business pitching sessions and business model canvas presentations.
  • For Common Proficiency English courses, there will be poetry recitations and other activities to enhance their communications skills.

Undergraduate

Students –

Academic Activities

  • They will be introduced to our teaching and learning facilities.
  • They will get to know their cohort-mates in person and explore the university life together, which might be different from their previous institutions. 
  • They will experience the 'internationalisation at home' environment as 15% of UTP community are made up of international staff and students.

Foundation

and

Undergraduate Students –

Non-Academic Activities

  • UTP, through the Centre for Student Development (CSD), will provide them with programmes so that they will gain first-year university experience and allow a smooth transition into university life. These programmes include exploration and tour of the campus and Seri Iskandar area, sessions on development programmes such as career and internship, technopreneurship, mobility, clubs and societies as well as student representatives' council.
  • They will also be exposed to interactive sessions with peers, seniors, alums as well as academic staff and advisors in balancing academic activities while exploring interest and developing soft skills and talents. 
  • In addition, CSD will organise physical outdoor activities so that they can experience a healthy campus lifestyle. 

 

All academic and non-academic activities conducted on campus will strictly adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures prioritising safety and health precautions as well as social distancing.
