​24th Edition of UTP Engineering design Exhibition (EDX24) 21 -22 Oct 2009)

 

 

For the twenty-fourth time, Engineering Design Exhibition has become the main educational activity held every semester in UTP. Engineering Design Exhibition (EDX) is conducted mainly to showcase the students’ innovations and creative ideas as well as providing a platform for the students and staff to exhibit their projects to the visitors. EDX comprised of several categories; Engineering Team Project (ETP), Final Year Project (FYP), Open Innovation Competition (OIC) and Postgraduate Project.

EDX is held for two days every semester. EDX 24 was held on the 21st and 22nd of October 2009 and a huge number of projects from different fields took part. There were 115 projects registered in EDX 24: 28 groups of 6-7 participants each for ETP, 60 participants for FYP, 11 participants in postgraduate category, 13 groups in OIC category and 3 groups from school category, there were two groups from MRSM Taiping and one group from Sekolah Menengah Teknik Slim River.

Overall, a total of 32 gold medals, 71 silver medals and 7 bronze medals were awarded. In the ETP category, the groups won 8 gold and 20 silver medals. For the FYP category, the participants secured 12 gold, 42 silver and 6 bronze medals. In addition, 3 gold medals and 10 silver medals were awarded in the OIC category while 2 gold medals, 8 silver medals and 1 bronze were given out to postgraduate candidates. With 4 gold and 6 silver medals, Business Information System Programme won the “Best Department Award”.
