3 Golds for UTP in INNOVA Brussels 2009 (19 - 21 Nov 2009)
Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) has marked another international triumph by winning 3 gold and 1 bronze medals in all 4 research works submitted at Innova Brussels 2009 held from 19 – 21 November 2009 in Brussels, Belgium.
The gold medal with Innova Brussels Special Award was won by a three-member research team led by Assoc. Prof. Dr Patthi Husain through their research ‘SOLJO-CERMET- A solid state joining of ceramic with metal’.
A project titled ‘A Versatile EM Transmitter’ ‘by a four-member research team led by Assoc. Prof. Dr Noorhana bt Yahya won gold with Special Mention. Another gold was won by a team led by Assoc Prof Dr Ibrahim Kamaruddin with the project titled ‘ACCI BAGS - Early Vehicle Collision Detection and External Airbag System’.

It is hoped that by participating in this exhibition, UTP will strengthen its human capital development in R & D and encourage creativity across the university community. This exhibition also provides a platform for the research fraternity to showcase their new inventions, ideas and products, and contribute towards UTP’s journey in becoming a Research University.
