​Deepavali and Indian Cultural Nite ' 09 (3 Oct 2009)

                

3rd October 2009,marked a very significant and great success for UTP Deepavali And Indian Cultural Nite 2009 (UDCN09), an event organised by Village 5 Student representatives (V5SR) in collaboration with UTP Indian Orchestra and International Cultural Club (ICC).

Around 1200 people attended the event which was held in Chancellor Hall and the crowd composed of UTP students,school students as well as general public from Ipoh and surrounding area.

This event managed to achieve its objectives, including to introduce and share the unique and versatile Indian culture and to portray the unity among Malaysians through cultural performances - Gamelan, Chinese orchestra & Indian Orchestra.

It started with a showcase of various performances including a ‘One Malaysia’ performance’ where Gamelan, Indian Orchestra and Chinese Orchestra performed together. As part of our social contribution to the surrounding community, we also had an award presentation ceremony to celebrate the Top 10 UPSR achievers of Tronoh Tamil School.

The event came to an end at around 10pm, when everyone enjoyed delicious the traditional Indian food at the Chancellor Plaza.
