Residential College Mesra Outreach VII (4 - 7 Sep 2009)
On the 4th – 7th September 2009 Residential College Support Unit (RCSU) had successfully organised a programme called Residential College Mesra Outreach VIII (RECMO VIII) at Felda Ijok, Selama, Perak. The programme was participated by 70 UTP students consisted of local and international students. RECMO was a social service programme which among the objectives were to generate social interaction between the University students and the surrounding community and to motivate the less fortunate children to face their future undertakings in a positive way. It was a new experience to some especially the international students for being able to fast with their adopted family from different cultural background. The students had also been introduced to the life of Felda settlers and 'kampung' life.

RECMO VIII was officiated by En Razali Bin Dan, (Manager of Felda Ijok witnessed by En Talhah Hassan, Senior Manager of UTP Residential College, Tuan Hj Shukor, Head of Felda Ijok and almost 50 villagers who showed their warmth welcome and support to the programme. This was followed by the session whereby UTP students meet their foster parents whom the students stayed with for 4 days in Felda Ijok. Around 20 families happily welcomed the students to experience a unique and different lifestyle.

Motivational Session for primary & secondary school

The closing ceremony was officiated by YB Dato’ Seri Raja Ahmad Zainuddin, Kubu Gajah ADUN; accompanied by Tuan Hj Mohamed Noor Rosli B Baharom, Director of Student Services, UTP. The ceremony started with a symbolic gesture of “menepung tawar” the RCSU UTP Monument built by UTP students. There were some performances made by the orphans, FELDA Youth and last but not least; the UTP students. At the end of the session, UTP gave some donation to the orphans and less fortunate children.
