​SIFE UTP Won Aries Malaysia Business IT Case Challenge (2 - 5 Dec 2009)

 

Our students from Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE UTP) of Young Entrepreneurs Club (YEC) had won the ARIES MALAYSIA BUSINESS IT CASE CHALLENGE 2009 which was held on 2nd -5th December, 2009 at Universiti Kuala Lumpur.. SIFE UTP had defeated 14 other teams from 11 local universities including UNITEN, UIA, UKM, UPSI, UUM and the host UNIKL. Another team from UTP represented by CIS students had also won the second prize. As the Champion, our SIFE UTP received RM15,000.00 worth of prizes comprised of 3 netbooks from Dell, trophies, and a holiday package to Langkawi for 3 days 2 nights. As a runner up, our CIS students received 3 Sony walkmans, trophies as well as a holiday package to Langkawi for 3 days 2 nights.

This competition covers several Business, Information System as well as Information Technology subjects such as E-Commerce, Finance, Data Communication and Networking, Knowledge Management and Management Information System. Acting as a consultant, each team was given a real life case study on a company business IT situation and was required to present their ideas and solutions to the panel of judges from renowned companies such as Microsoft, Cisco, Knowledge.com and CBS.

UTP had sent 3 teams to participate in the ARIES MALAYSIA BUSINESS IT CASE CHALLENGE 2009. The teams were:

i.) SIFE UTP 1st team – represented by Mohamad Anif bin Adenan, Nursabrina binti Abdul Jalil and Zeffree Kan bin Zainal Kan (CHAMPION)

ii.) UTP CIS students – represented by Abdul Maziz Esa, Thi Hong Nguyen, and Thi Mai Chi Do (2nd PLACE)

iii.) SIFE UTP 2nd team – represented by Muhammad Wafi bin Muhamed, Muhammad Zulhimi bin Bachok and Nurshafiqa binti Shahirol
