Enhanced Learning Experience With The Signing of MOU With Griffith University, Australia (15 July 2010)
Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) charted another milestone in spearheading research excellence and providing enhanced learning experience with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Griffith University, Australia. The MoU was signed by the Director, Internalisation and Professional Liaison of Griffith University, Professor Loo Yew Chaye and Rector of UTP, Datuk Dr Zainal Abidin bin Hj Kasim on 15 July 2010 at the campus in Bandar Seri Iskandar.
The formalisation of alliance between these two leading institutions of higher learning will open up many avenues for both varsities to work closely on joint areas of interest. It has paved the way for further meaningful collaboration which amongst others extends to the following areas:
(i) mutual benefit from scholarly interaction
(ii) cultural interchange
(iii) co-operative research
(iv) academic collaboration.
Both parties will pursue significant activities in the near future, such as the exchange of students and academic staff members and collaborative research and joint applications for competitive funding in Malaysia, Australia and internationally. This partnership will also establish Griffith as a new destination of choice for UTP PhD scholars.
It is envisaged that the exchange of academic publication materials, cooperation in training projects, mutual assistance in preparation of seminars, conferences and workshops as well as opportunities for other forms of cooperation, such as the delivery of award and non-award courses will also yield significant advantages for both parties.
