Menggapai Impian 2010 (20 Dec 2010)

PETRONAS places great emphasis in undertaking its corporate social responsibility on the surrounding communities where it has its operations locally and abroad.

Similarly, the University shares the value espoused by PETRONAS and  today, for the fourth time, it has taken the initiative to conduct a programme called ‘Menggapai Impian’ which is designed with the aim of enhancing the learning experience of the underprivileged in order for them to enjoy a better learning environment.  Under this initiative, UTP staff volunteers adopted a child before the school semester starts and sponsored the child with a minimum of RM100.00 in the form of stationeries, schoolbags, uniforms and shoes for the preparation for the new school semester.

70 students from four homes which are Rumah Nur Kasih (Bota), Rumah Nur Kasih (Air Tawar), Salvation Army (Jalan Kampar) and Salvation Army (Tambun) benefited from this programme.  It is hoped that this contribution will lessen the burden of the homes and will spur the children to work harder. This programme will also benefit the staff as one way to keep up with the spirit of sharing and giving to those in need.
