Two Gold, Four Silver Medals and A Special Award for UTP Team in Geneva 39th Salon International Inventions (6 - 10 Apr 2011)
The Geneva 39th Salon International Inventions which was held from 6th to 10th April 2011 at Geneva Palexpo Hall 7, Geneva has attracted 1000 inventions from 45 nations. It was organised by the Swiss Confederation, City of Geneva and WIPO (World Intellectual Property Office)
This merit-based competition offered rewards in terms of medals, certificates and prizes for the winners. This was a wholly integrated invention fair providing inventors from all over the world with comprehensive information on the commercialisation of inventions, patent information, and technology transfer.
The research projects selected were sourced from postgraduate works, Engineering & Design Exhibition (EDX) and also from the Undergraduate Final Year Projects. UTP won 2 gold and 4 silver medals.

Associate Prof Dr Suzana Yusup was also conferred The Saudi Arabia Mawhiba Award, an award from King Abdul Aziz and his companions’ foundation for giftedness and creativity for the effort in managing waste and converting waste to wealth.
All UTP inventors were interviewed by the Bulgarian Television for their Innovative Products television show. Our inventors had also identified potential commercialization collaborators from Taiwan University of Technology, Saudi Arabia King Abdul Aziz foundation, Iranian Al-Chemist Industrial Company, MediGlobal Sdn Bhd, Kang Chien Co Ltd Taiwan, Moscow State University and Vienna Trading House.
