UTP Holds Biggest Career Fair (9 – 10 June 2015)
70 multinational companies recently participated in Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP)’s biggest campus based career fair in Malaysia, the Technology, Education & Career 2015 (TEC15). It was officiated by Mr Maen Razouqi, Vice President & General Manager, Schlumberger BMP.
This year marks the 15th year of TEC’s establishment. Since it was first organised in 2001, TEC has become an important annual event most anticipated by UTP students in providing a platform for them to meet and network with potential employers.
With the theme “Redefining Your Career”, UTP’s graduates-to-be who attend TEC15 have the opportunity to interact and meet face-to-face with recruiters and professionals from representatives from the leading engineering, oil, gas and energy industries all over the world.
“We are always proactive in ensuring the best for our students. TEC is one of the most effective ways for our students to gain visibility and maximise their potentials to be recruited, as each year we bring in prospective employers right to their doorsteps.
“This event also provides the best platform for UTP students to better understand the challenges of the job market today. With this understanding, our students and graduates will be better prepared with the knowledge, competencies and attitude as required by employers,” said Mohamed Noor Rosli Baharom, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Student Affairs and Alumni, UTP.
Companies signed on for the two-day career fair include Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS), Schlumberger WTA (M) Sdn. Bhd, PETRONAS ICT Sdn. Bhd., Shell Malaysia, ROSEN Asia Pacific, BASF PETRONAS Chemicals, Dialog Group Berhad, Resort World Genting, Hewlett Packard and Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Berhad.
Pre-events leading up to TEC such as career talks, intern-share forum, recruitment drive and industrial visits were also held to give students an overview of the real working world.
