Celebrating Cultural Diversity Through UTP Colours of Ranggoli Night 2020

Indian dance culture and performance came alive at UTP with UTP Colours of Ranggoli (UCRN) 2020 held today. Into its ninth year, the annual event aimed to promote Indian culture and traditions through art, music and dance performances. In addition, UCRN 2020 was held as a celebration of the many cultures representing the diversity of race in UTP, with the spirit of 1Malaysia.
Themed ‘Absolute India’, the event also saw students from Universiti Sains Malaysia, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka, Limkokwing University and Taylors University battled it out in Indian dance competition.
The UCRN 2020 organising committee members also did their bit in charity and successfully raised funds of RM4,000 to help ease the burden of the underprivileged. The funds were contributed to Precious Home Ipoh, Vision Home Ipoh, Salvation Army Home Ipoh as well as students from Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil Tronoh, where each beneficiary received RM1,000.
Batu Gajah Member of Parliament YB Tuan Sivakumar Varatharaju Naidu was present to hand over the mock cheques to the beneficiaries as well as officiate UCRN 2020.
Also present at the event were UTP Students Affairs and Alumni Deputy Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Nor Hisham Hamid, UTP Centre for Student Development Director Associate Professor Dr Nurlidia Mansor, together with more than 1,000 audience.
