UTP Signs MoU on Sharing Expertise in Corrosion Research

Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Cekap Technical Services Sdn Bhd and Somay-Q Technology Inc have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration between the three institutions.
The MoU was signed by UTP Vice Chancellor Professor Ts Dr Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib, Cekap Technical Services Sdn Bhd Executive Chairman Sofiyan Yahya and Somay-Q Technology Inc Director Atsuhiro Fukuda.
Under this MoU, UTP, through its Centre for Corrosion Research , Cekap Technical Services Sdn Bhd and Somay-Q Technology Inc will work together in enriching faculty and student experiences, sharing research resources and using new and improved technology for research in corrosion-related areas.
The UTP-Centre of Excellence: Centre of Corrosion Research is currently active in many research pertaining to fundamental and applied research under the leadership of Associate Professor Ir Dr Mokhtar Che Ismail.
The MoU is part of strategic smart partnership between all parties and serve as a catalyst to drive the country's economic development through the academia-industry collaboration.
UTP puts emphasis on engaging in transdisciplinary and collaborative research to help shape a new generation of researchers and academics in making the university a hub of scientific discovery and innovation. Its goal is to become an internationally recognised partner of choice for industry and respected scientific community by the year 2025.
