Empowering Students for a Global Future: PNU-UTP Intercultural Exchange Programme 2023
35 students from Princess of Naradhiwas University (PNU) Thailand recently completed the UTP-PNU Intercultural Exchange Programme 2023, which took place at UTP campus.
The three-day programme began with a warm welcome from UTP faculty, staff, and students who eagerly awaited the arrival of the PNU delegates led by the Deputy Dean of Industrial Linkages Dr. Majdee Tohtayong.
Throughout the programme, various activities such as language and sports exchanges, traditional games, music and dance performances, provided the students with opportunities to showcase their heritage and share their unique traditions with one another.
This visit marked another important milestone in the collaboration between PNU and UTP. Both institutions have actively engaged in mobility programmes since 2016, including virtual mobility programmes during the pandemic.
These initiatives aim to enhance the academic quality of the students' education by exposing them to new learning opportunities and pedagogical approaches. Moreover, such programmes ensure that students receive excellent education and are better prepared for future employment, particularly through internationalisation of experiences.
The success of the PNU-UTP intercultural exchange programme serves as an inspiring example for other educational institutions worldwide. It underscores the importance of creating opportunities for students to engage in cross-cultural experiences, encouraging them to become global citizens capable of addressing the challenges of the increasingly interconnected world.
Organised by UTP Centre for Student Development (CSD) in collaboration with SUDI @ Narathiwat 5.0 and PNU Faculty of Engineering, the initiative, which is in its fifth edition, has provided commendable learning opportunities for the students and equipped them with essential skills for their future careers.
The PNU’s visit to UTP for the intercultural exchange programme was a remarkable journey of discovery, friendship, and cultural exchange. By providing students with a platform to learn from one another and strive for the future, the programme has fostered valuable connections among participants.
CSD expresses its gratitude to PNU for entrusting UTP to provide its students with a global experience. The programme’s success is a testament to the commitment of both universities for quality education.
CSD is also grateful to UTP Management, SUDI @ Narathiwat 5.0 Project Manager Harith Akmal, UTP Performing Arts Group, Go Global Club, and student buddies for their contributions to the success of the programme.
