Petroleum Experts Donates Software Worth RM26.2 million to UTP
Petroleum Experts Limited (Petex), an engineering company based in the United Kingdom, has once again donated academic licenses for its software worth £4.9 million (RM26.2 million) to Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP).
The academic licenses feature a new 64-bit version of the software, namely PROSPER (Well Modelling and Design), GAP (Multiphase Network Optimisation), PVTP, MBAL (Reservoir Analytical Simulation), REVEAL, RESOLVE, MOVE, 2D Kinematic Modelling, 3D Kinematic Modelling, Geomechanical Modelling, Fracture Modelling, Fault Response Modelling, Fault Analysis, Stress Analysis, MOVE Link for Petrel, MOVE Link OpenWorks and MOVE Link for GST.
This donation provides UTP students with the necessary proficiency and skills and at the same time allow them to have the competitive advantage when entering the workforce upon graduation. The licenses are used by students and faculty within the Petroleum Engineering and Geoscience Departments.
Petex is the industry standard for integrated field modelling and production optimisation and is currently used by the oil and gas industry to model dynamically their oil reservoirs, production and injection wells and surface pipeline networks as an integrated production system.
