The 8th International Forum on Industrial Bioprocessing (IBA-IFIBIOP 2019) conference was held on 1st - 5th of May 2019 in Imperial Hotel, Miri, Sarawak organised by Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) and co-organised by Curtin University in collaboration with International Bio Processing Association (IBA).
The conference was initiated by welcoming speech by conference chair, Prof Ir Dr, Suzana Yusup and followed by acknowledgement speech by conference patron, Prof Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib and conference international coordinator, Prof Dr. Ashok Pandey. Themed “Bridging Sustainability and Industrial Revolution through Green Bioprocessing”, this conference brings together scientists, engineers and experts to deliberate on developments in the fields of bioenergy and biofuels, food technology and engineering, industrial biotechnology, environmental biotechnology and upstream and downstream bioprocesses. The conference aims to provide a platform for participants from various industries and academic institutions to share thoughts and views on the bioprocesses and biotechnology, while developing research connections and networking. This is the first time in Malaysia specifically in Miri, Sarawak. The five days conference had attracted an average 170 participants from over 25 countries worldwide.
