Safe, Secure and Sustainable Perak Rivers

Assalammualaikum w.r.t.
Dear Prof/Ir/AP/Dr/Ladies & Gentleman,

Safe, Secure, and Sustainable Perak Rivers (3SPR) is a theme of our UTP Coastal Protection & Mangrove Conservation Nexus (CPMC) lead by Dr Teh Hee Min, AP Ahmad Mustafa Hashim, Dr Noridah Osman and Dr Subarna A/P Sivapalan on the areas of expertise;
  1. Coastal Protection
  2. Mangrove Conservation
  3. Socioeconomic, Education & Sustainability

On 28th May 2019, CPMC conducted a workshop with JPS Perak delegation led by Ir Marenawati Abd Malek, Timbalan Pengarah JPS Perak and her team. The main agenda of the workshop are to pitch proposals by CPMC that related to JPS focus areas for research collaboration. It was indeed a success workshop where 5 proposals have been identified to be highly relevant to the JPS’ need.

Through leadership by Dr Teh Hee Min, we’re also in progress in developing another 3 more short course modules through CAPE for JPS Perak, a continuation from ‘Hydraulics for Civil Engineers’ short course on 25th – 26th April 2019 at JPS Manjung.

The collaboration between UTP and JPS Perak has been a smooth sailing since MoU signing and we’re looking forward for more future planning with JPS in anytime soon.

We are very proud with the achievements by our Coastal and Mangrove Nexus Team!
