UTP - IWK & SPAN ENGAGEMENT SESSION

Through an MoU signed between Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) and HICoE CBBR in 2020, ISB has taken this opportunity to engage with IWK and Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Air Negara (SPAN) that was conducted on 8 April 2021 for a sharing session. The event was graced by Welcoming Remarks by Assoc Prof Dr Noor Amila Wan Zawawi, ISB Director, followed by Opening Remark by Pn. Arni Shahrina, Director, Industrial Development and Audit Division (BPAI) SPAN, and Ir Khor Bee Chin, Senior Manager Technology & Innovation Section IWK.

The event's main objective is for IWK and SPAN to (1) share water supply and sewerage service procedures for domestic and industry and (2) the guidelines to conduct research in sewerage areas or sewage treatment sites. This session has benefitted the researchers on the relevant background to understand the focus areas of IWK and SPAN to be implemented in their current research or technology development for product commercialisation. There will be more jointly organised events with IWK and SPAN in the future. We hope through this platform, will create a new partnership in ISB in general, and Nexus in particular; Water Energy Environment Nexus (WEEN), and Sustainable Highway and Infrastructure Nexus (SHINE) for more successful research collaboration.
