Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS Innovation Accelerator (UToPIA) is an accelerator program to support high-potential startups in UTP. ​​Officially launched ​on 16 September 2022 by YBhg Tan Sri (Dr) Mohd Hassan Marican, Chancellor of UTP. UToPIA aims to increase the exploitation of UTP's and PETRONAS's ​intellectual property (IP) and to accelerate the technology commercialisation.

​OBJECTIVES
  • ​​Increase take-up rate of UTP's intellectual property exploitation and commercialisation.
  • Creation of new intellectual property through problem-solving and integrated solutions offerings using existing intellectual property.
  • Produce successful innovation techno-based enterprise ad entrepreneurs.
  • Job creation through new employment and opportunities
  • Contribute to local and national economic development via the creation of new innovative industries.
  • As a feeder into corporate open innovation system.​​​
