UTP Virtual Research Attachment Programme (VRAP)
This Virtual Research Attachment Programme (V-RAP) offers students an opportunity to experience online research on-the-job training without having to leave own country.
- The student will be working on computer-based research task.
- UTP researchers will train, supervise, and share research materials to assist student gain valuable skill and research experience.
- The minimum attachment duration is 2 months up to 12 months (can be customized based on project needs or home university requirement).
- Open to all undergraduate and graduate from existing partners or non-partner university.
WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW TO BE PART OF THIS PROGRAMME?
PROGRAMME OBJECTIVE
- To become a platform for student to develop your research and virtual working skill, align with current global trend.
- To assist undergraduate student to earn academic credits to complete your internship.
- To assist postgraduate student to complete your thesis with the help and guidance from professional researchers.
- To become a steppingstone for you to further your study in Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS.
PROGRAMME ELIGIBITY
- Open for all full time undergraduate or postgraduate student in their Home University with minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent.
- Nominated by Home University.
- Fulfill English requirements (for non-English speaking countries):
- A minimum IELTS score of 5.0 OR
- A minimum TOEFL PBT score 500 OR
- A minimum TOEFL iBT score of 59 OR
- A minimum TOEFL CBT score of 173.
APPLICATION CALENDAR
V-RAP application is open twice in each semester. Below are the application deadline:

- Email below documents/information to VRAP coordinator:
- Curriculum Vitae
- Academic Transcript
- Acknowledgement Letter (issued by home institution)
- Research Interest
- Pay registration fee 1 month prior to the programme.
STEP 3 - OFFER LETTER
UTP will review the application documents and student will obtain offer letter after UTP receive the confirmation of acceptance from the selected Supervisor. Next, student must confirm your acceptance by filling up the Student Acceptance Form and provide the proof of payment.
CANCELLATION POLICY
If you wish to cancel your participation, you shall communicate about your cancellation request at least 2 weeks before the programme start. Please email your request and personal details such as Full Name, registration number and state your valid reason(s) to programme coordinator below.
