UTP Virtual Student Exchange Programme (V-SEP)


V-SEP stands for Virtual Student Exchange Programme that provides opportunity for inbound students to join mobility programme even though during pandemic Covid-19. V-SEP is carried out based on mutual agreement between institutions. Exchange students can enrol in equivalent courses at UTP in subjects that are related to their faculties and study background in their Home University. Selection of available subjects are limited to online courses only.

Virtual ​intake is open starting September Semester 2020. UTP will continue to offer this virtual programme until further notice. Every year we offer 3 intakes; January-April Semester, May-August Semester & September-December Semester.

As an exchange student, you will:
  • Study for 1 to 2 semester(s).
  • Attend virtual classes and involved in other related academic activities (i.e. assignments, projects, tests, examinations, etc).

All participants will receive a transcript upon completion of the programme.

PROGRAMME ELIGIBITY


  • Open for all full time undergraduate student in their Home University with minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent.

  • Fulfill English requirements (for non-English speaking countries):
    1. A minimum IELTS score of 5.0 OR
    2. A minimum TOEFL PBT score 500 OR
    3. A minimum TOEFL iBT score of 59 OR
    4. A minimum TOEFL CBT score of 173.

  • Afford to support the whole cost incurred during the programme.

  • Have stable internet connection with minimum bandwidth of 512Kbps throughout semester.

  • Nominated by Home University.

APPLICATION PROCESS


STEP 1 - APPLYING THROUGH YOUR HOME UNIVERSITY INTERNATIONAL OFFICE

Application can be made through Home University's International Office or Mobility Coordinator and details shall be provided via email.

Application window will be open starting 1st September until 1st December 2021.

STEP 2 - SUBMIT APPLICATION

Home University to compile & submit all the required document for admission before 15th December 2021 to UTP:

  1. Nomination Letter
  2. Curriculum Vitae
  3. Academic Transcript
  4. English Proficiency Certificate
  5. Student Matric Card
  6. Study Plan / List of Courses (Learning Agreement Form)
  7. Passport Photo
  8. Confirmation Letter

STEP 3 - ISSUANCE OF UTP STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAMME (SEP) OFFER LETTER & INVOICE

UTP will review the documents and issue an offer letter and invoice for the programme.

Student need to pay the admission fees before 2nd January 2022​​.

ADMISSION FEES: USD160/student for 1 semester ONLY!

PROGRAMME CONTENT


1. VIRTUAL EXCHANGE ORIENTATION WEEK

Date 1 - 2 Jan 2022 (within 2 days)
Mode Virtual engagement through MS Teams.

COURSE REGISTRATION SESSION

  1. Student needs to fill in the Enrolment Form (online).
    • To complete registration process
    • To get the UTP Student ID
    • To get the UTP email account & internet access
  2. Student to check the final timetable & submit their final Learning Agreement Form (maximum of 15 credit hours).

2. ONLINE CLASSES

Student undergo their online clasess and fulfil all semester requirements virtually through UTP ULearn platform.

3. COACHING & MENTORING

Student will be assigned to 1 mentor to guide and help throughout the online semester.

Mentor could be:

  • Lecturer
  • Student Buddy
  • Mobility Coordinator

4. TESTS / EXTENDED ASSIGNMENT (EA)

Student need to complete all Tests & EAs accordingly through UTP ULearn platform.

Each EA will be given 24 Hours to complete according to the schedule.
