Wong Wei Xi and Goi Xue Yang’s Path to the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) World Championship

Two talented students from the Computer and Information Sciences (CIS) Department, Wong Wei Xi and Goi Xue Yang, embarked on a remarkable journey that has led them to the global stage of the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) World Championship.

Their personal journey began at the Microsoft Office Specialist National Championship in Malaysia. Wong Wei Xi showcased his exceptional skills in Microsoft Excel (Microsoft 365 Apps). His hard work and precision paid off as he emerged as the Champion of Microsoft Excel in the national competition. Goi Xue Yang, with his creative flair and attention to detail, secured the 1st Runner-Up position in Microsoft PowerPoint (Microsoft 365 Apps).

With the guidance and support of their advisor, Ts. Saipunidzam bin Mahamad, they are rigorously preparing for the next challenge – the MOS World Championship. This prestigious global competition tests students’ skills in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, bringing together top students from around the world. The CIS Department has been involved with the Malaysia National competition since 2016, demonstrating its commitment to excellence by winning 1st Runner-Up honou​rs two times in different categories at this prestigious competition.

Wong Wei Xi and Goi Xue Yang were selected to represent Malaysia at the World Championship. Wong will compete in the Microsoft Excel (Microsoft 365 Apps) category, while Goi will showcase his talents in the Microsoft PowerPoint (Microsoft 365 Apps) category.
