UTP’s international reputation for the quality of its courses is further recognised as the institution is ranked amongst the world’s top universities in seven subjects, with three new entrants, in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings by Broad Subject of Engineering and Technology 2020. Overall, UTP is ranked 259.
The subjects are Top 50 (ranked 42nd) for Mineral & Mining Engineering (new entrant), Top 150 for Chemical Engineering, Top 200 for Civil & Structural Engineering (new entrant), Top 250 for Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Top 300 for Mechanical Engineering, Top 400 Computer Science & Information System and Top 550 for Chemistry (new entrant).
Not only Mineral & Mining Engineering a new entrant, but it also ranked first in the nation.
“The latest rankings have highlighted UTP’s strengths across a broad range of subjects. This is an indication of the high standard and quality of the courses we offer.
Furthermore, our performance is indicative of how our students are viewed by industry players and proves that our approach is well received by the industry,” said UTP Vice Chancellor Professor Ts. Dr Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib.
