UTP Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETaL), Institute for Self-Sustainable Building (ISB), UTP Low Carbon Campus Taskforce and UTP Eco Project had jointly organised a webinar titled ‘Net-Zero Carbon Emissions (NZCE) 101: How Can We Support Climate Goals as a Higher Learning Institution?’
The webinar was held as part of the university’s efforts to spread greater awareness to students and staff on PETRONAS’ 50-30-0 aspiration to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050, and to create a deeper understanding on how and what we as a university community can do in support of PETRONAS’ call.
Mr Thirupathi Rao, Head, Climate Change, Sustainable Development Department, Environment & Social Performance, Group HSSE, PETRONAS and Mr Dhinakaran Govindasamy, Head, Climate Change Planning, Climate Change Unit, Sustainable Development Department, Environment & Social Performance, Group HSSE, PETRONAS were the speakers of the webinar. Nearly 250 UTP students and staff attended the event.
Climate change and sustainability are two critical global agendas that require collective as well as the whole institution participation and support. Together, let us do all we can to ensure the future we leave behind for the next generation is secure and inclusive.
