UTP has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE), a partnership that further expands and diversifies UTP’s network of academic and research partners.
The MoU was signed by UTP Vice Chancellor Professor Ts. Dr Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib and HCMUTE Acting President Dr Le Hieu Giang.
The witnesses for the MoU were UTP Director of Health and Analytics Institute Professor Dr Tang Tong Boon and HCMUTE Director of Science and Technology Dr Hoang An Quoc.
The MOU lays the groundwork for collaboration in the areas of research, academic, student mobility/internship and staff exchange. Shared area of interest for collaboration includes HCMUTE’s subscription to the Altair software package.
The UTP-Altair Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Applied Scientific Computing is the first-of-its-kind in the Asia Pacific region and the second CoE for Altair, after Houston in the United States. Focusing on research related to multi-physics, multi-scale modelling and Internet of things (IoT), the CoE’s vision is to become a regionally recognised resource centre for computational modelling and analytics focusing in energy, transportation, and fundamental engineering research.
