On 2nd November 2023, the 8th Research Advisory Council (RAC) meeting was successfully held, with YBhg Professor Dato’ Ts Dr Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib, Vice Chancellor, serving as the chairperson. The meeting was anchored by Professor Ir Dr Mohd Shahir Liew, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research, Innovation, and Commercialisation. It was attended by seven (7) prominent and esteemed industry leaders from Malaysia and international organisations. Following the Chairman's opening remarks, Professor Ir Dr Mohd Shahir Liew provided an excellent overview of UTP's research, innovation, and commercialisation (RIC) performance and future prospects.
Under the theme 'Digital Globalisation of Engineering and Technology,' RAC and RIC members engaged in productive discussions, exchanging ideas, opinions, and proposals that will be invaluable in shaping UTP RIC's direction in 2024 and beyond. The RAC meeting served as a platform for gathering external insights to strategically develop RIC at UTP, setting the course for the future.
