The MoU will provide a platform for cooperation in faculty and student experiences, sharing research resources and using new and improved technology for research. This will develop novel ideas and build scientific capacity amongst UTP's talents especially in the advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Through this MoU, the two universities will work together in the areas of CO2 utilisation focusing on catalysis and technologies for CO2 reforming, methanation and hydrogenation processes which will convert the waste CO2 into valuable chemicals and fuels.

UTP has had a long relationship with TAMU, as previously Professor Dr Bjorn Brigsson TEES Eminent Professor was UTP International External Examiner and TAMU students who had undergone their summer research attachment at UTP.
