UTP recently held its 17th Academic Advisory Council (AAC) at PETRONAS Leadership Centre (PLC) Bangi. The council is responsible to guide and provide strategic directions for the development of UTP to achieve and materialise its vision, mission and aspiration to become a globally prominent university.
The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the University's Board of Directors (BOD), YBhg Dato' Raiha Azni Abdul Rahman.
The members are made up of eminent scholars and industry experts appointed by the university's BOD and have been meeting annually since the council's establishment in 2003. The current members are:

This year, the council members met to discuss on the opportunities, challenges and strategies in maintaining the university's sustainability in the areas of academic, research, students and graduates, hence the theme, "Moving Towards Sustainability".
Prior to the meeting at PLC, the AAC members had engagement sessions at UTP with the university's staff and researchers. Afterwards, the members were taken for a campus tour and visited, among others, Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning and the R&D Buildings.
