220 enthusiastic runners gathered at the Kledang Hill Ipoh for the first-ever UTP-Kledang Trail Run 2019.  The run featured the 12-kilometer men's veteran, men's and women's open as well as 5-kilometer fun run. 

YBhg Clr En Aldrin Ng @ Wu Yau Zhun, representing YB En Howard Lee Chuan How Perak State Executive Council of Youth, Sports and Human Development, officiated and flagged off all runs.;

Also present were Perak Forestry Director YBhg Dato' Mohamed Zin Yusop and UTP Registrar Associate Professor Dr Azrai Abdullah.

The UTP-Kledang Trail Run 2019 was held in conjunction with the university's upcoming 19^th Convocation in November.  It was organised as part of the university's social responsibility (USR) initiatives to engage with its surrounding community.  It also aimed to promote physical activities among the public and attract local tourists to Ipoh.

Besides UTP-Kledang Trail Run, USR programmes organised by UTP for its convocation day are, among others, Peacock Bass Daiwa Master Challenge (fishing competition), ConvoRide (cycling competition), ConvoRun (running competition) and UTP Vice Chancellor (international youth football tournament).
