​673 school students will start their 2020 school year with brand new school supplies

Every year, we collect donations to provide essential school supplies to students from low-income households to ensure that they can start the next school year with confidence and ready for success. The Menggapai Impian & Yayasan UTP School Kits Giving Campaign was organised by Yayasan UTP in collaboration with UTP Stakeholder Management Department in conjunction with UTP 19th Convocation ceremony. The initiative is part of our University Social Responsibility (USR) programme.

The overwhelming support from PETRONAS staff across the globe raises RM134,600 for the campaign within just a month, enabling us to help 673 students with their school preparation.

The distribution of the school supplies begins on 31 October 2019 at selected schools in Perak districts, The official giving ceremony was held on 11 November 2019 at Seminar Room 7, UTP, where 124 kits were awarded by the Chairman of UTP 19th Convocation, Associate Professor Dr Azrai Abdullah, to the deserving students from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sultan Muhammad Shah, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sultan Muzafar Shah 1, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sultan Abdul Jalil Shah, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Layang-Layang Kiri, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Changkat Lada, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Lambor Kiri, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seri Iskandar, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seri Londang, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Iskandar Shah and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Dato' Abdul Rahman Yaakub and the children of UTP janitors. The remaining kits will be distributed before the start of the school holiday end of this week.
