UTP Convo Ride 2016
On 16th October 2015, UTP donated 168 bicycles to underprivileged school children from 20 schools in Tronoh and surrounding areas during Convo Ride 2016, the university's CSR programme as well as cycling event, held in conjunction with UTP's upcoming 16th convocation ceremony in November 2016.
For this particular CSR programme, UTP received sponsorships and donations of more than RM50, 000 and a portion of the donations will be channeled to Yayasan UTP bursary fund to provide financial aid for UTP students.
The bicycles were sponsored mainly by UTP and PETRONAS staff as well as other individuals and organisations at RM 300 each.
2. Convo Fest 2016
UTP and its Student's Representative Council also organised a Convofest at its campus in Bandar Seri Iskandar from 4 to 19 November 2016, featuring various interesting activities that include cultural and art performances, futsal, water games, exhibitions and concert by Malaysian celebrities. Yayasan UTP raised RM500 throughout this event.

ESTCON2016
Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) with the support from Ministry of Education (MOE), Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), Agensi Inovasi Malaysia (AIM and Yayasan Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (YUTP) gathered more than 1,200 experts from over 40 countries from 15 to 17 August 2016 for a gathering of presentations, lectures, panel discussions and debates on research and innovation in the 4th World Engineering, Science and Technology Congress (ESTCON2016) held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre to determine a more sustainable future.
The event received RM730,000 worth of sponsorship contributed by various corporation and industries such Petroliam Nasional Berhad, International Conference & Exhibition Professionals (iCEP), OPITO Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd, ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc, TechSource Systems Sdn Bhd, Solution Engineering Sdn Bhd , Makhostia Sdn Bhd , Budaya Restu Sdn Bhd, Dialog Group Berhad, Transwater Tenaga Sdn Bhd and Mitsubishi Corporation among others.

Carbon Offset Project 2016
In conjunction with ESTCON2016, UTP has also worked on a special Carbon Offset Project by planting 33 trees at the ESTCON Park, UTP campus. To reduce carbon footprint in organising ESTCON2016, UTP has focused on reducing and reworking strategies to minimise carbon dioxide in areas such as air travel, paper usage and electricity consumption. The trees were sponsored by the university's staff with total contribution of RM9,900.

Alumni Convo Dinner 2016
Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) in collaboration with Yayasan Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (YUTP) organised the 15th Convocation Dinner at UTP Main Hall, Tronoh on 5th Nov 2016 at 8.00 pm. The dinner was held a night before the graduation day to commemorate the success of UTP students who will be graduating in 2016.
This memorable event is jointly organised with UTP Alumni Association, featuring performances by UTP talented students. The dinner was graced by UTP Vice Chancellor, YABhg Datuk Rahim along with Tun Abdullah as the UTP Chancellor, in the presence of PETRONAS Chairman, PETRONAS President, UTP Board Members, PETRONAS Executive Vice President and their spouses together with other invited guests.
In addition, this event is also an engagement platform for the graduating students to establish networking with their potential employers. Yayasan UTP raised RM6,000 throughout this event with UTP Alumni Association, Fotograduate, Petronas Dagangan Berhad, Halliburton and AGB Multiserve as the sponsors to the event.
