"Zakat has given a great impact to my life."
Muhammad Saifullah Hassan, the youngest of seven siblings, was raised in a household where his father was a house builder, who retired while Saifullah was still in secondary school. The role was then taken over by his eldest sibling, who provided for their family from thereon.
With only a single source of income, Saifullah enrolled in UTP with the assistance of a PTPTN loan. However, this only covered half of his semesters tuition fees which then caused his family to have financial difficulties to further support him at UTP. He was dismayed at the thought of continuing his studies due to his family’s meagre earnings.
It was at this moment that TAZU gave him renowned hope in continuing his education. The burden faced by Saifullah and his family was lifted, and his remaining tuition fees were all covered.
This drove Saifullah to strive in his education at UTP and put his best foot forward throughout his studies. His efforts paid off as he managed to graduate with flying colours and ultimately was offered a career in Oil & Gas industry upon completion of studies.
In sharing his story, Saifullah encourages fellow UTP students to be certain with the path paved for them at the university, and hope that more students can get the help they deserve through TAZU.
