​​About competition

NICC  is centered around the theme 'The Healing Power of Chemistry,' which was proposed by the ACS for National Chemistry Week 2023. With this theme, NICC invites targeted participants to choose any topic relevant to the theme for their projects and presentations. The competition will begin with the submission of a 5-minute pitching video through YouTube (preliminary round) from the second week of June 2023 until the second of July 2023. From the preliminary round, results will be announced by the end of the third week of July 2023, twenty groups from the Foundation Level category will be selected for the final round. The selected finalists will then present a 15-minute pitch in a physical exhibition competition, which will be held at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS on August 23rd and 24th, 2023 (Wednesday and Thursday).

OBJECTIVES​

1. To nurture innovation and communication skills among students worldwide. 
2. To discover innovative chemistry-related initiatives among students worldwide. 
3. To increase awareness and interest of the public about chemistry in daily life. 
4. To broaden the connection of ACS-UTP-ISC with other associations inside and outside of UTP.
