ABOUT COMPETITION

​

Petrosolve is an educational initiative organized by UTP in collaboration with Rock Flow Dynamics (RFD). The competition aims to provide students with exposure to tNavigator software, which is a product of Rock Flow Dynamics, and challenge their knowledge by asking them to solve real-world simulations using the software and provided data. This competition serves as a platform for students to enhance their technical skills and apply their learning in a practical and engaging manner. By participating in the competition, students will gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge software and improve their understanding of reservoir simulation and modelling.

OBJECTIVES

  • Talent Development: The primary goal is to identify and nurture future talent within the industry. This will be achieved through a comprehensive and challenging competition that will test the participants' skills and knowledge.
  • Industry Exposure: Another key objective is to provide students with exposure to industry-level datasets, software, and technologies. This will empower them to identify, analyze, and propose solutions to current industry challenges, thereby preparing them for careers in the field.
  • Networking Opportunities: This competition will also facilitate networking opportunities between SPE student chapters in Malaysia and abroad. This will provide students with the chance to connect with industry professionals and establish valuable connections for their future careers.
  • Employability Enhancement: Finally, the initiative aims to enhance the employability of future Malaysian graduates for the oil and gas industry by developing their technical and professional competencies. By participating in this competition, students will gain hands-on experience and practical knowledge that will make them more competitive in the job market.
