UTP Faculty Embrace Cutting-Edge Design Innovation at SUTD
Faculty members craft a prototype to bring their solution concept to life
April 2024 - A team of 18 faculty members from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) recently participated in the SUTD Executive Education Programme in Singapore, a 7-day customised experience hosted by the Singapore University of Technology and Design. The programme focused on Design Innovation, highlighting the Double Diamond approach to enhance the iteration process in design thinking. The faculty engaged in hands-on activities at the Fab Lab, exploring the use of 3D printers and experimenting with robotics programming, both through traditional coding and gesture-based interactions. This immersive experience not only broadened their technological expertise but also provided valuable insights for reimagining the Engineering Team Project (ETP) at UTP. The innovative methods and practical skills acquired during this programme are set to transform the ETP course, fostering a new era of creativity and problem-solving among students.
