Extension of the Total Lockdown from 15 until 28 June 2021

Dear Students,

In line with the recent announcement on the extension of the Total Lockdown from 15 until 28 June 2021, the following measures will continue to take effect:
1. Students shall continue with teaching and learning activities via online.

2. On-campus students are not allowed to go out from the campus.

3. All students from UTP SIBC hostel who have been relocated to the on-campus accommodation will continue to stay at the respective on-campus accommodation.

4. Critical laboratory/research works that is conducted individually may be allowed under strict conditions. Off-campus postgraduate students who need to perform such critical laboratory/research works and utilise the research facilities are required to stay at the on-campus accommodation. UTP Centre of Graduate Studies (CGS) will conduct a survey and compile additional requests from students who wish to enter the campus to perform laboratory works and communicate with the Covid Response Team (CRT) in order to plan for the arrangement of students to enter the campus. Students who opt to stay on-campus will need to undergo the RT-PCR test or a 10-day isolation period at the on-campus accommodation prior to the commencement of their laboratory/research works. Results of the test MUST be negative before students can enter the campus. The cost of the test will be at students' own expense. Once the students have entered the campus, they are not allowed to leave the campus during the lockdown duration.

5. Any student who is already on-campus but wishes to leave the campus for any reasons whatsoever will be required to undergo the RT-PCR test or a 10-day isolation period prior to returning back to campus.

6. Non-contact sports and recreation activities conducted individually at open, outdoor area on-campus is limited to jogging and exercise only, from 7 am to 8 pm.

7. Cafeterias and marts operation hours are from 8 am to 8 pm. Dine-in is not allowed. Food delivery service, i.e. GrabFood or Foodpanda, in UTP is available until 8 pm. The food delivery service pick-up point is at the respective village centres.

8. The percentage of UTP workforce allowed on campus is 20% at any one time. Hence, only essential staff are allowed to enter the campus for a maximum of four (4) hours daily.
The safety and security of the campus community remains our highest priority. The university shall continue to adhere to the directives from Majlis Keselamatan Negara and Ministry of Higher Education, and implement the necessary precautionary measures accordingly.

Throughout the lockdown, please stay safe, take care of your health, adopt good hygiene practices and practice social distancing. We all have a collective responsibility to ensure that the safety and wellbeing of our community are protected.
