Dear Students,
We hope that everyone had a good rest throughout the Chinese New Year holidays. Even though COVID-19 has impacted the celebration this year, we hope it has not dampened your spirits and you are able to enjoy the festivity as much as you can amidst the new norms.
As we continue to face the threat of COVID-19, the University will continue to take extra precautions and measures in ensuring all safety measures are put in place, in accordance with the standard operating procedures (SOP) set by the government. Rest assured, such SOPs are not intended to restrict your freedom. Instead, it is implemented for the sake of everyone's wellbeing and essential to keep our community safe and healthy.
On this note, we are pleased to share various initiatives taken by the University in making sure that students’ wellbeing is well taken care of in every aspect:
- Unlimited Wi-Fi until further notice.
- Reopening of sports facilities – gymnasium as well as tennis, badminton and table-tennis (singles events only).
- Printing services at Village 2 and 3. Free A3 size printing until further notice.
- Scheduled petrol refuelling every Tuesday and parcel collection every Wednesday.
- Students can purchase their personal needs through UTP Student Support & Advocacy and Kosiswa. They can also shop for their daily necessities at Billion supermarket via online.
- On campus transport services.
- Students can purchase their FYP materials through UTP Laboratory Management Department’s assistance.
Moving forward, the University will also implement the following initiatives for the students:
- Hardware and pharmacy services.
- Permission for UTP student to sit for SPM examination at nearby school.
- Allowing internal activities with strict compliance and adherence to government’s SOPs.
Again, we would like to assure you that we will continue to undertake the necessary preventive and precautionary measures to protect your safety and health.
