Community Service Programme - Cleaning Surau at Taman Bandar Universiti, Seri Iskandar, Perak (7 Aug 2010)
On 07th August 2010, Village 4 (V4) committee in collaboration with the UTP International Student Council (ISC) high committee members led by ISC Welfare Exco 2, Mr. Issa Abdramane (Chadian), and the UTP Egyptian student community (ESC) high committee led by ESC President, Mr. Beshoy Safwat, participated in a community services program. The activity was to clean the surau (muslim madrasah) at Taman Bandar Universiti, Seri Iskandar, Perak. This noble program was organised in celebrating the coming Holy month of Ramadhan.
This programme was participated by nine UTP international students, three UTP staff and the local community . The main objective of this programme is to generate integration among UTP international students and the local community.
The programme started at 8.00 a.m and ended at about 12.30 p.m. The students also had breakfast together with the local community. The students also presented some items such as prayer mat, “sarong pelikat” and “telekong” to the surau committee, for the use of the community.
