Customer Service Ceremony at Sungai Tinggi, Trong, Perak (15 July 2010)
The International Student Unit (ISU) and the International Student Council (ISC) high committee members led by ISC Welfare Exco 2, Mr. Issa Abdramane (Chadian), participated in a Customer Service Ceremony at Larut Matang and Selama District organised by the Jawatankuasa Keselamatan dan Kemajuan Kampung (JKKK) Trong on 15th July 2010 in Sungai Tinggi, Trong, Perak.
This programme was participated by 28 international students from Bangladesh, Chad, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Malaysia, Mauritania, Mozambique, Sudan, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and Yemen.
The main objectives of this programme are to generate integration among UTP international students and local community, provide opportunity for UTP international students to know more about the 40 government department/agencies of the Perak state, and expose the students to the local traditional dance and culture.
The programme was officiated by the Menteri Besar of Perak, YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Zambry bin Abd. Kadir.
The programme started with a cultural dance comprising of 3 ethnic groups - the Malay, Chinese and Indian community. The UTP students who witnessed the dance performance were so excited to watch such an event for the first time.
The programme ended with lunch and later all the students went for an educational tour to Taiping and Bukit Merah Laketown Resort, Perak.
