Malaysia Independence and Youth Day Celebration (1 Aug 2010)
On 1st August 2010 (Sunday), starting from 7.00 a.m. until 03.00 p.m., Village 4 committee, Residential College Support Unit (RCSU) committee, International Student Council (ISC) committee and International Student Unit (ISU) staff participated in a programme organiz\sed by the Perak Tengah District Department (PTDD) and the District Information Department (DID) called “SEMARAK MERDEKA JALUR GEMILANG (SMJG) DAN HARI BELIA”. It was held at Seri Iskandar public field.
The objective of the event is to commemorate the 53 years of the independence of Malaysia.
The program was officiated by the Perak Tengah Police Chief, Superintendent Muhammad Pakri bin Chek Sulaiman. This programme was attended by government officers and the public community of Seri Iskandar.
Nineteen UTP students (14 local and 5 international) became facilitators. Various activities were organised such as aerobic dancing, singing of patriotic songs, race-running competition, games for children, colouring contest and blood donation drive. There were also exhibitions by government departments such as from the Navy department, Fire Brigade department, Agriculture department, Hospital and others.
