Malaysia Leadership Development Seminar (MYLDS) is an annual youth leadership development seminar specially tailored for members of Association Internationale des Étudiants en Sciences Économiques et Commerciales (AIESEC) in Malaysia. MYLDS 2010 which was organised by AIESEC Malaysia in collaboration with AIESEC Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) was held at UTM in Skudai, Johore, from 12 – 19 December 2010. One of the objectives of this event was to develop leadership of AIESEC members nationwide in line with AIESEC Global Competencies. In addition to that, MYLDS 2010 is also a vital platform in which all member committees of AIESEC in Malaysia converge to discuss about the future of AIESEC in the country.
The programme was officiated by the advisor of AIESEC UTM, Prof. Dr. Baharom Abdullah, witnessed by all delegates from various universities around Malaysia. The participating universities included UTM, USM, UPM, UKM, UM, University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus, UTP and Taylors University as well as delegates from various countries including those from as far as Russia, China and Japan. Activities during the week-long event were designed based on AIESEC Global Competencies, such as Proactive Learning, Entrepreneurial Outlook, Global Mindset, Social Responsibility and Leadership.
MYLDS 2010 succeeded in achieving its objectives with the election of the new president for AIESEC Malaysia as well as empowering members of AIESEC in UTP to greater heights. It is hoped that AIESEC UTP will contribute towards the mission of making AIESEC the top youth development organisation.
AIESEC UTP would like to thank UTP Management for their kind support in allowing its members to participate in the seminar and further develop their leadership potential.
