Press Conference on World Engineering, Science and Technology Congress (ESTCON2012) – Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (22 December 2011)
A press conference was held on 22 December 2011 to announce the upcoming of the World Engineering, Science and Technology Congress 2012 (ESTCON2012) organised by Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP). The congress will be held from
14 - 16 June 2012 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia.
ESTCON2012 is an excellent ‘centre stage’ for knowledge sharing, intellectual discussions and also networking on various areas of interest; for all academics, researchers, scientists, engineers, interest groups and industry experts from all around the world.
The theme of the congress is
"Towards Sustainability: Bridging Engineering, Technology and Humanities". The theme stresses the bridging of all community of experts in research and innovation in sustaining of knowledge for betterment of societies.
ESTCON2012 will be the largest world congress ever held in Malaysia comprising 8 simultaneously-held international conferences. This congress will include 20 parallel sessions and more than 1400 research papers from all around the world.

Two well-known speakers will deliver their keynote addresses during the opening ceremony keynote speakers are:

“Sustainability, Energy, and Civilization: Issues and Options”. |

Prof. Dr. Feng Da Hsuan, Vice President for Global Strategy, Development and Evaluation National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan to deliver his keynote address entitled
“Roles and Responsibilities of Humanity Facing Global Challenges in the 21st Century”. |
The congress is also working on a special Carbon Offset Project called ‘Save The Earth’. This carbon offset project will help to minimise our contribution to global warming by organising activities including planting of trees during the planning and execution stages of the congress. The sponsorship received for this congress will also be channeled for funding the planting of these trees.
