UTP Clinched Merit Award in the Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN), Inter-Varsity Social Venture Challenge 2011 (3 - December 2011)
Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) clinched Merit Award in the Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) Inter-Varsity Social Venture Challenge 2011. The team managed to bag home a cash prize of RM 5,000 and RM 1,000 worth of book vouchers.
They won the competition through their social-venture business proposal entitled “E-Commerce for Youngsters” that has been submitted to the website
www.mybsn.com.my/socialventure/index.htm. The project has been short-listed from 38 submissions from all public and private education institutions across the nation.
The final round was held at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel, Kuala Lumpur from 3-5 December 2011 involving the best 8 teams . In the challenge, the students had to present their project to the panels comprising of financial institution representatives, industrial experts, social-venture capitalists and media representatives.
The UTP team members were :

4. Nor Lyana Binti Mohd Hamka (ID: 12788 – BIS, 3rd Year)
In addition, the team has also received special invitation to participate in the Regional DiGi Challenge for Change Competition 2011 to be held in Penang soon.
