UTP Vice Chancellor Datuk Ir (Dr) Abdul Rahim Hashim said the application provided recordings of special prayers and verses from the al-Quran read personally by the noted founder of the Islamic medical centre, Darussyifa', Datuk Dr Haron Din to heal various ailments including general, physical and spiritual health as well as mystical disturbances.

He said the M-IRMS applications had won several awards at the national and international levels, including the gold medal at the Malaysian Technological Expo recently.

"The application has a big potential to become a reference for the Muslim community in Malaysia or Southeast Asia which uses the Malay Language as the medium of instruction.

"We are also working on translating the application into the English language and this is expected to be ready in the near future," he said in his speech at the launching of the M-IRMS application officiated by Datuk Dr Haron at the Dewan Canselor UTP, here.

Research Head for the application, Dr Hanita Daud said the existence of the M-IRMS application enabled the community to seek speedier and more accurate treatment by reading the al-Quran and Hadis, especially when it received extraordinary support from Haron who is also a famous Islamic treatment figure.

She said Android and iOS users could download the application for a fee of RM5. - BERNAMA
