Visit by Bloggers, Media Practitioners and Key Opinion Leaders to UTP

About 35 bloggers, mainstream media practitioners and key opinion leaders were in Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) today for a familiarisation visit (FAM Trip). Organised by Tourism Perak with the support from Media MNC Nusantara, the FAM Trip aims to promote new travel destination in Perak. UTP has been selected as one of the educational-tourism destinations.
The participants got to experience UTP through a tour around campus and visited the university’s iconic locations such as the Information Resource Centre, Chancellor Hall,
An-Nur Mosque and the Geological Rock Garden (GRG).
The first largest geological garden to be constructed in Malaysia, the GRG will occupy an area of 44,550 square meters, covering more than a 1km pathway and furnished with prehistoric landscape rock boulders, actual size dinosaur models, fossils and digital library.
Prior to the tour, they were briefed about UTP by Corporate Communications Senior Director Pn Shamsina Shaharun and GRG by Geoscience Chair Dr Khairul Arifin Mohd Noh.
